In Book 1 of our five-part series, we revealed the foundation of God’s Master Plan for His children.
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Eph. 4:11-13
As this Scripture says, God will raise believers who will to the same level of perfection as Jesus. We do not have to wait to get to heaven to achieve this. This Scripture reveals to us that the five-fold ministry is to equip us to achieve this in this age, not the next.
Jesus confirms that He expects believers to imitate Him in this age.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14
“Most assuredly, he who believes in Me can become perfected imitators of Jesus in this age. Why does God want to raise a company of perfected overcoming believers?
In Book 2 of our series, we saw the rewards for overcomers.
“And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations.” Rev. 2:26
“He who overcomes shall inherit all things.” Rev, 21:7
